To be held at the University of Texas at San Antonio – Downtown Campus in the beautiful San Antonio, TX. The conference is a joint venture involving several universities, justice system agencies, restorative justice practitioners, and the faith community. Women's International History Month


On March 24, Crosspoint celebrated Women's International History Month by hosting a panel discussion on Women's Issues. The panel was facilitated by Pryor House FD Shaamid Gaitan. Issues and Panelists included:

Women and Substance Abuse - Melanie Lane (Alpha Home)
Women Offenders and their Children - Lisa Neale and Corrina Laureles (US Probation Office)
Helping Women Develop a Positive Self Image/Esteem - Irene Hall (Dress for Success San Antonio)
Women and Trauma/Domestic Violence - Patricia Castillo (P.E.A.C.E. Initiatives)

The panel was well attended and the panelists provided great insight to those who work closely with women in need.

Electronic Accountability at Crosspoint

In April, Crosspoint will be transitioning to a paperless electronic accountability system for monitoring resident movement and clinical casework. Crosspoint will be the 1st Federal RRC (Residential Reentry Center) in the State of Texas to install this system.

Defibrillators installed at Crosspoint Residential Facilities

In March 2009, Crosspoint installed AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) in each of their residential facilities. This state of the art technology will provide Crosspoint staff with the resources to ensure the safety and well being of its residents at all times.

SAVE the DATE - 2009 Community Resource Fair

Mark your calendars for this year's Community Resource Fair scheduled for May 2, 2009 at the Ruble Community Center, 419 E. Magnolia, San Antonio, Texas 78212.

The fair will provide residents, clients and their families with information and resources to support them in the processes of reunification, transition into the community and building upward.

This year, in the spirit of collaboration, the Community Resource Fair has been expended to include residents/clients and families of three agencies - Crosspoint, Inc., Alpha Home and Bexar County Detention Ministries.
